Although best known for producing signage, the company is increasingly focusing on innovation by exploring new markets such as art, design and architecture. By collaborating with artists and designers who like to use enamel, new ideas emerge where enamel adds value.
"My first visit to the Emaillerie was overwhelming. Not only was I impressed by the industrial-looking building, but the craftsmanship and beauty of the enameled panels is incredible."
"Just a few weeks before Tanguy van Quickenborne bought Emaillerie Belge in June 2016, he asked me if I would be interested in working with him. My first visit there was overwhelming. Not only was I impressed by the industrial-looking building, but the craftsmanship and beauty of the enameled panels was incredible. We both knew there was a lot of work to do in terms of innovating and exploring new markets, which was seen as a must, so we immediately decided which markets to focus on: design, art and architecture.
We are now realizing several works for and by artists such as Kasper Bosmans, Christian Dotremont and Michaël Borremans. Several design projects are also taking shape, for which we are working with designers such as Damien O'Sullivan, Muller Van Severen, Ben Storms and Maarten De Ceulaer. Last but not least is architecture. Glenn Sestig has become a big fan of realizing projects in enamel and we are also on our way to cladding facades, tunnels, subway stations and kitchen countertops."
